The proposed changes can quickly and efficiently be turned into reality. All segments of society need to pitch in to build the global human referendum and to resolve the severe human suffering.
Elected governments have traditionally supported the expansion of democratic systems. In many cases their constitutions support the same basic principles that the referendum applies on a global level. A world vote does not interfere with national sovereignty, or cultural tradition. Local issues are best handled on a regional scale through structures that are already in place. The referendum decisions fill the void where a cohesive international policy is needed.
Non-elected governments and marginalized democracies, no matter how populous they are, have long been excluded from taking a proper position on the international scene. The people of entire sub-continents can finally participate in the world's decision making process on equal footing.
Armed forces and related industries need to realize that they are not achieving peace. An effort with the same financial and logistical support as a medium-sized military operation would rapidly improve the worldwide infrastructure. With just 14% of the world's annual military spending and without firing a single bullet, we can resolve all the gravest problems that in-and-of-themselves lead to violent conflicts. The restructuring of armies into constructive organizations can occur in a non-confrontational manner. Generals and soldiers don't need to worry about job security. With modified mission, many disarmed men and women can actually help their fellow human beings.
Financial institutions can well afford the tiny fraction of their worldwide transactions that are required. The ridiculously low 0.03% on all financial transactions that are required to resolve human suffering is barely noticeable when added to current taxes and duties.
Transnational corporations and special interest groups usually have narrow and simple goals that end with the bottom line on their financial statements. A stable world situation benefits their interests and therefore should encourage financial support. Contributions worth just over two percent of their assets can bring about vast improvement.
Rich individuals, especially people with liquid assets of over one million US$, make up a small but important minority. With a voluntary contribution of less than half a percent of their combined wealth, not counting real estate and other holdings, these people could single-handedly lift all those that are in desperate need of assistance from a state of misery.
Middle-income individuals , who for the most part work hard to achieve their state of comfort, should not feel threatened by these popular decisions. All financial resources that are needed to support the positive changes proposed by the referendum, originate outside their personal sphere of wealth and won't affect their lifestyles.
Poor individuals constitute the largest
percentage of the population and will feel the benefits of
the world vote the strongest. No financial input is required
from people who are poor.
Voluntary contributions in the form of organizing, executing
and implementing the referendum is welcome from all quarters
and adds greatly to the common goal.
